Ding An Sich - The Wanderer And His Shadow (LP, vinyl rip). 1995.

Ding An Sich is one of the oldest and the best wave bands of Greece. 

They started their career in the middle '80's with a darkwave sound but they soon  developed their music adding ethereal elements together with electronica, pop and experimental. 

The band proved to be an open minded and talented group of musicians, earning one place in the history of the European wave scene.

This is their second LP. While their early work is mostly based on guitar, this LP is mainly based on synths. 

The lighter side of this LP includes dance beats mixed with ethereal female vocals and dreamy melodies.It also contains some surprises, like the use of traditional instruments (oud and small bouzouki) in the second song.

Ding An Sich - And... / Wandering... (7" single, vinyl rip). 1989

Ding An Sich are one of the best darkwave bands of Greece. Active since 1987 they started in a darkwave direction but soon they enriched their sound with pop and ethereal elements.

   

This 7" single is their first vinyl, released in 1989 by Terra Incognita label in limited copies.

   

These are the first years of the band and the two tracks are fitting perfectly in the music climate of that era in Greece. 

    The b side ("Wandering") is a powerfull darkwave/gothic song with fascinating guitars. The file contains the two songs plus the cover and all the artwork with the lyrics. Ripped from the original vinyl to wav for better sound quality. Enjoy!

Girls rewrite rock - A "Voice" magazine compilation. 1997

This compilation came out along with Voice magazine at 1997 and it includes some of the best dark, post punk and independent music bands of Greece during that time, all with female singers or members.This cd is very hard to find and most of the tracks are previously unreleased.

What i like most here is the bands who have a dark sound like Ding An Sich, Forward Music Quintet, Blue Birds Refuse to Fly. But the real gem is Petunia Pig an almost all-girl band from Patra with a unique pop-punk sound. They never had a record but they still are one of the best greek bands ever (in my opinion)!
