Anne Clark (born 14 May 1960 in London), is an excellent poet and songwriter. Her first album, The Sitting Room, was released in 1982, and she has released over a dozen albums since then.

Her experimental music occupies a region bounded roughly by electronic, dance (techno applies on occasion) and possibly avant garde genres, with varying hard as well as romantic and orchestral styles.

Clark is mainly a spoken word artist. Many of her lyrics deal critically with the imperfections of humanity, everyday life, and politics. Especially in her early works she has created a gloomy, melancholy kind of atmosphere. 

This wonderfull album includes some of her best songs remixed by famous names of electronic music like Sven Vaeth, Juno Reactor, Total Eclipse etc. The most tender moments mix with hard electronic beats creating magical soundscapes.

This is a piece of pure art and one the most beautifull albums i've ever heard!

The Mission U.K. - Aura (cd ripped, mp3 320). 2001.

   Aura is the ninth studio album by The Mission. After some goth pop albums that failed to earn the goth fans, the band returns with a pure gothic rock album.


With the spirit of "Serpent's Kiss" playing around its intro guitars, and an anthemic quality that cannot be ignored, the opening "Evangeline" insists from the outset that the reborn Mission are not here to simply make up the numbers.


Aura sounds like the greatest-hits album that never was, a succession of brilliantly conceived ghosts that reassemble all the Mission's proudest moments, then fashion something dynamically new and pure from them. True, "Cocoon" does glance in the direction of the Cure for its bassline, and "(Slave To) Love" wallows in that same discomfortingly sexually implicit trough as Masque's "Heaven Sends You". From start to finish, it's The Mission back at the starting post. (from Allmusic).

Girls Rewrite Rock (various artists). A cd compilation of female greek groups.(cd ripped, mp3 320). 1997

This compilation came out along with Voice magazine at 1997 and it includes some of the best dark, post punk and independent music bands of Greece, all with female singers or members.

This cd is very hard to find and most of the tracks are previously unreleased.


What i like most in this compilation is the bands who have a dark sound like Ding An Sich, Forward Music Quintet, Blue Birds Refuse to Fly. But the real gem is Petunia Pig an almost all-girl band from Patra with a unique pop-punk sound. They never had a record but they still are one of the best greek bands ever (in my opinion)!

Gong - Live. Floating Anarchy 1977 (cd ripped. format wma). 1977

        A psychedelic space trip!

Gong came together in the late '60's by the Australian guitarist David Allen. The band created a mythology of the peaceful Planet Gong populated by Radio Gnomes, Pothead Pixies, and Octave Doctors.

Rolling Stone magazine described Gong's music as combining "psychedelic English whimsy, German kosmische space jams and Gallic libertine fusion".

"A psychedelic album with a black and white cover. It is crudely hand drawn as well. It exhibits more punk flavour than flower power.

But then again, that is what Planet Gong was kind of about. They were not really the hip psychedelic flower-power band. They were very much free-form craziness.
The music here shows it.

It flows freely and weirdly. Crescendos of power chords and mysterious noodling all combine to make I a serious tour de force. The musical mayhem is accompanied by fairly strong, uncompromising anarchistic rhetoric, which at times sounds like a bit of a put on . . . but then you realise that they are quite genuine in their beliefs."

Greek poet Kostas Varnalis (1884 - 1974). My friend found this painting in a wall somewhere near the port of Kalamata. Some days later this beautiful artwork was covered up with a fresh coat of paint (possibly by the local authorities?)

Shadow Project - From The Heart (cd ripped). 1998.

Long time no see friends! I'm back again for some more of my favourite music!

This masterpiece comes from 1998. Rozz Williams and Eva O. create an acoustic deathrock album, full of strange melodies. 

Rozz and Eva created Shadow Project back in 1990. 

In 1997 they recorded this last cd. It was an acoustic album wich also featured guitarist / producer Michael Carivolo and keyboardist Nathan Van Hala.

Sadly, shortly after the test pressing was finished, Rozz Williams hanged himself on April 1, 1998, after which the album appeared under the title From the Heart.

New Zero God - new vinyl single!

   The great greek post punk/gothic band New Zero God returns with two new killer songs.
   The band formed in Athens in 2006 by Mike Pougounas, singer and guitar player of the famous punk/gothic band The Flowers of Romance and the industrial band Nexus.
   While New Zero God is billed as a post-punk group, their sound may lack any true classification, as their current style is a culmination of a musical evolution that began with The Flowers Of Romance’s pure punk style, later gothic rock style, and then Nexus’s industrial style.
   New Zero God has performed at several notable shows thus far, such as opening for the Legendary Pink Dots and Christian Death. 
Their debut album, "Fun Is A Four Letter Word" was released in January 2010 by Puzzlemusik Records.

This new digital and vinyl single (limited copies) contains two excellent gothic rock songs.
All of you out there who love original post punk and gothic rock must buy the vinyl single or at least download the songs.

Gulag - In the showyard (Στην αυλή των θεαμάτων). LP, vinyl rip. 1990.

  This is one of the best punk records ever made in Europe!

   I know that it sounds big but this band from Thessaloniki - Greece, managed to create mind blowing hardcore punk songs with intelligent lyrics for intelligent people, following the tradition of Dead Kennedys and early american hardcore.

  Gulag formed in 1985 and they recorded their first record "Eisodos kindynou 0 c" in local Lazy Dog records in 1987.

   It was a big surprise for the greek punk scene and three years later this second record followed (1990). They toured in Europe and they were making records till 1996, leaving a legendary name behind.

They still play from time to time.

One true diamond from the greek counter-culture!
